AGENDA:

1) Introductions

2) Review the Committee Scope and relationship to the Steering Committee
This group will inform education master planning by focusing specifically on student services such as counseling and advising, library resources, financial aid, special programs, and residence halls. This group is asked to see that the future direction of student services fulfills the college’s Mission (We continually assess ….. to improve upon the programs and services we offer.), moves the college closer to targets of student achievement, and establishes practices that show clear evidence of meeting accreditation standards.

3) Begin SWOT Analysis

  • Strengths – Factors that are likely to have a positive effect on (or be an enabler to) achieving the college’s objectives related to student services.
  • Weaknesses – Factors that are likely to have a negative effect on (or be a barrier to) achieving the college’s objectives related to student services.
  • Opportunities – External Factors that are likely to have a positive effect on achieving or exceeding the college's objectives, or goals not previously considered related to student services.
  • Threats – External Factors and conditions that are likely to have a negative effect on achieving the college’s objectives, or making the objective redundant or un-achievable related to student services.
