AGENDA:

1) Introductions

2) Review the Committee Scope and relationship to the Steering Committee
This group will inform education master planning by focusing specifically on curriculum and instruction. This includes professional development and other resources necessary to enhance instruction. This group is asked to see that the direction of curriculum and instruction fulfills the college’s Mission (…continually assess student learning and institutional performance…), moves the college closer to targets of student achievement, and establishes practices that show clear evidence of meeting accreditation standards.

3) Begin SWOT Analysis

  • Strengths – Factors that are likely to have a positive effect on (or be an enabler to) achieving the college’s objectives related to instructional innovation.
  • Weaknesses – Factors that are likely to have a negative effect on (or be a barrier to) achieving the college’s objectives related to instructional innovation.
  • Opportunities – External Factors that are likely to have a positive effect on achieving or exceeding the college's objectives, or goals not previously considered related to instructional innovation.
  • Threats – External Factors and conditions that are likely to have a negative effect on achieving the college’s objectives, or making the objective redundant or un-achievable related to instructional innovation.
